The Edison Park Lofts is located in the heart of Butchertown. The nearly 100 year old gymnasium building was originally built for the Wesley Community Center. When the owners purchased the property, the gymnasium was used as a storage area and needed extensive remodeling. The property is listed on the Historic Register and Joseph & Joseph Architects performed the architectural work and consulted on the restoration to meet the requirements for the Historic Tax Credits.

This building now includes six high end apartments each with a second floor loft. The intent of the design was to highlight the historic elements of the building in each unit and allow users to experience the large structural elements and volume of spaces. Unfinished, corrugated metal panels were added for a finished ceiling to accentuate the barrel vault structure and height.
