The Pepper House was first constructed in 1812 as the distiller’s home high above the Oscar Pepper distillery complex below.  The original two-story log structure had several additions over the years as its use evolved.  Our goal was to sensitively expand, repurpose and preserve the building to host VIP tasting and personal selection experiences for small groups of visitors.  The original exterior limestone chimney anchors the restoration, with rebuilt porches that welcome guests.  Existing spaces have been recrafted as a dramatic two-story high tasting room, a parlour with fireplace, a display room and a bar with catering support spaces.  Outside, patrons can spill out to an exterior dining terrace that is surrounded by stone seat walls that overlook the landscaped gardens.
